Hiroshi Nagakubo

Hiroshi Nagakubo (長久 保裕 Nagakubo Hiroshi, born December 14, 1946) is a Japanese retired pair skater who now works as a coach. He is one of the more successful coaches in Japan. As a skater, he is the 1967-1971 Japanese national champion with partner Kotoe Nagasawa. They placed 16th at the 1972 Winter Olympics.

His currently coaches at the Howa Sports Land Skating Club in the Aichi Prefecture and his current students include Ryuju Hino, Rin Nitaya, Rika Hongo, Sota Yamamoto, and Yuhana Yokoi. His former students include Shizuka Arakawa, Takeshi Honda, Yura Matsuda, and Haruka Imai.[1] His most notable pupil is Akiko Suzuki who he coached for most of her career (since the early 2000s) until her retirement in 2014.[1]
