He continued performing throughout his service, and after retiring from active duty in 1990, began a full-time musical career. He re-enlisted after 9-11, was deployed to Afghanistan where an injury forced his retirement. Hank was the brigade executive officer for the 7th Brigade, 104th Division (TNG) from 1998-2001. [1]
