The Women's balance beam competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom. The event was held at the North Greenwich Arena on 7 August.^[1] Deng Linlin from China took gold, Sui Lu also from China took silver and Aly Raisman from the United States took the bronze via the inquiry and tie-breaker.

Format competition

The top eight qualifiers in the qualification phase (limit two per NOC) advanced to the apparatus final. Qualification scores were then ignored, with only final round scores counting.^[2]

* Larisa Iordache (ROU), Aliya Mustafina (RUS), Jordyn Wieber (USA) and Sandra Izbașa (ROU) ranked 11th, joint 12th and 14th respectively but did not qualify as Reserves for this final due to teammates ranked above them. On August 6, Diana Bulimar decided to give up her spot to Larisa Iordache, because she thought that her teammate had a better chance of medaling than her.^[3]
