Government Polytechnic Mumbai is one of the leading Polytechnics in the state of Maharashtra, India. Government Polytechnic Mumbai is an Autonomous Institute of Maharashtra offering Diploma and Post Diploma programs in engineering and technology that cater to the changing needs of industry, business and community at large using need based curricular delivered in a dynamic learning environment. AICTE and Government of Maharashtra approved full-time programs are offered to candidates selected as per the norms laid down by the government of Maharashtra. The polytechnic also maintains relations with accreditations bodies like All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE).

About Institute

Establishment of polytechnic at Elphinstone technical School, Dhobhi Talav, Mumbai with 60 intake in Civil Engineering on 15 June 1960. The Polytechnic acquired existing campus in May 1985 at kherwadi Bandra(East) . Introduction of new diploma courses under state government plan scheme.later on Electronics Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering were added in 1988 and Mechanical engineering was added in 1989 and many other fields were added in coming years.
