Giorgio Bàrberi Squarotti

Giorgio Bàrberi Squarotti[1] was born in Turin in 1929. Since 1967 he has been teaching Italian literature at the University of Turin.

He is one of the most important Italian literary critics.[2] He is very known for his intense work on important Italian authors such Dante, Machiavelli, Tasso, Manzoni, Verga, Gozzano, and also for his interest in contemporary authors. He has been director of the historical "Grande dizionario della lingua italiana" UTET[3]
