Free immersion apnea
Free immersion (FIM) is an AIDA International freediving discipline in which the freediver dives under water without the use of propulsion equipment, but only by pulling on the rope during descent and ascent.[1]
Performances may be done head first or feet first during the descent, or a combination of the two.
The current record holders are William Trubridge with a depth of 122m in a dive time of 4min 34s, set on May 3, 2016 in Dean's Blue Hole, Bahamas[2] and Jeanine Grasmeijer (Netherlands) with 92m, set on September 6, 2016 in Kralendijk, Bonaire.[3]
