Foreglen

Coordinates: 54°55′34″N 7°07′44″W / 54.926°N 7.129°W / 54.926; -7.129 Foreglen is a village in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It is 6km west of Dungiven on the A6 Foreglen Road, a main route linking Belfast and Derry. Limavady is 18 km to the north and Derry is 23 km to the north west. It is designated as a Small Village and in the 2001 Census it had a population of 285 people. It is situated within the Causeway Coast and Glens area.[1] Around 1900 it was known as Ballymoney.

Features

The village is a small linear settlement with a mix of public authority and private sector housing, and a number of local services and facilities including a local primary school, church, shop, post office, public house, and recreational facilities at O'Brien's GAC playing fields.[1]

The local Gaelic Athletic Association club is O'Brien's GAC.

Transport

Although the village has good road links, it has relatively limited public transport connections.[1]
