First World Hotel and Plaza is a three-star hotel in Genting Highlands, a hill resort in Malaysia. Featuring a total of 7,351 rooms, it has set the Guinness World Record for Largest Hotel in the World (by number of rooms). By 2006, it featured 6,118 rooms, making it the largest hotel, until The Palazzo, an expansion of The Venetian in Las Vegas, officially opened on 1 January 2008. In 2015, First World Hotel regained the Guinness World Record[1] after an opening of a new block.[2]

The hotel has received 35.5 million guests since 2006.[2]

Features

First World Plaza

First World Hotel consists of Tower 1 and Tower 2 with 3164 standard rooms, 2922 deluxe rooms, 649 deluxe triple rooms, 480 superior deluxe rooms, and 136 world club rooms. It is managed by First World Hotel and Resorts Sdn Bhd, one of two major companies operating at Resorts World Genting. In 2013, First World Hotel extended Tower 2 Annex which has altogether 1,286 rooms including new rooms named XYZ Deluxe and XYZ Triple. The average size of the rooms is 170.70 square feet.

First World Hotel is the first hotel in South East Asia to launch E-Kiosk or Express Check-in and Check-out kiosks.

Structures

Below the hotel is a 500,000-square-foot (46,000 m2) plaza called the First World Plaza, housing shopping malls, arcades, dining outlets, casinos, and the Genting Indoor Theme Park. There is a mini stage for weekly performances (such as magic and music shows) at the Times Square as well as a replica of the Statue of Liberty and an Oscar statue. Other attractions include a Cineplex and a Video Games Park.

A new block, annex 2A will houses the 20th Century Fox World Theme Park, Genting Premium Outlet, a brand new shopping mall in Sky Avenue and a new cable system.[1]

Genting Indoor Theme Park

The Genting Outdoor Theme Park ceased operations on 1 September 2013 to make way for the world’s first 20th Century Fox World, due for completion in 2016.[3] Other rides and attractions except for some located in First World Plaza such as SnowWorld, Video Games Park, Fun Land, Genting Bowl are open as usual.
