First Guaranty Bancshares (commonly known as (First Guaranty Bank or FGB) was founded in 1934 in Hammond, Louisiana, as Guaranty Bank & Trust Company.

As of December 31, 2011 First Guaranty Bank operated 21 branches with total assets of $1.4 billion. Although most prominent in Tangipahoa Parish, First Guaranty serves communities throughout southeast, southwest, and north Louisiana.

Guaranty Bank Building in Hammond's Historic District, now a Paris Parker Aveda Salon owned by Neill Corporation. This was the location of First Guaranty Bank when it was Guaranty Bank & Trust Company.

First Guaranty Bank's focus is to serve small towns and communities in selected markets throughout Louisiana and surrounding areas.
