Filip Flisar (born September 28, 1987 in Maribor) is a Slovenian freestyle skier competing in ski cross discipline.[1]
Career
Alpine skiing career
He started as alpine skier in fast disciplines. He competed in two FIS Junior World Ski Championships and a couple of FIS Ski European Cup events but with no success.
Freestyle skiing career (2008)
So he rather joined FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup. His World Cup debut performance in 2007–08 FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup season was a ski cross competition on March 6, 2008 in Grindelwald, Switzerland. In 2008–09 season he performed on his only one competition in halfpipe.
First Olympics (2010)
He represented Slovenia at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, where he competed in ski cross he took 8th place.[2][1] At 2011 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships in Deer Valley, where he competed in Men's ski cross he took 11th place.
Winter X Games medal (2012)
In 2012 at Winter X Games XVI in Aspen he achieved 2nd place in the ski cross event.
Ski Cross title (2012)
On 11 January 2012 in Alpe d'Huez he won his first World Cup victory. He won two more World Cup races in that season. In 2011–12 season he won the discipline title in ski cross and was 5th in Overall. On 13 December 2012 in Telluride he won World Cup race. He has four World Cup wins in total. By the number of wins in Men's Ski Cross World Cup he is currently at 7th place in all time ranking.
Olympics (2014)
In Sochi At 2014 Winter Olympics he competed in men's ski cross where he reached the semi finals. In the small final he placed second, behind Egor Korotkov and ahead of Armin Niederer and Florian Eigler, thus ranking overall sixth in the competition.[3][4]
Ski Cross World Champion (2015)
On 25 January 2015 he produced a stunning performance in the final of FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships 2015 ski cross and managed to climb from 3rd to 1st place in the last few meters of the race. He won his and Slovenia's 1st ever gold medal at the World Championship in Freestyle skiing. He shared the podium with Jean-Frédéric Chapuis, defending World Champion and current Olympic Champion, who won the silver medal and Victor Öhling Norberg, who got bronze. [5]
Mountain bike racing career (2016)
He achieved 10th place in men's four-cross at World Championship in Val di Sole.

Personal life
He is known as a fearless man who loves extreme sports. In his free time he skateboards and drives downhill. He is also known for his trademark handlebar moustache.
