Farnham Town Football Club is a semi-professional football club based in Farnham, Surrey, England. They play in the Combined Counties League Premier Division.

History

Established in 1912, the club was one of the founder members of the London Spartan League in 1975. They reached the Fourth Round of the FA Vase in the 1976–77 season.[1]

During the early 1990s, they were one of the biggest names in local football and won the Combined Counties League in successive seasons. However, the lack of funds to compete with increasing player wage bills and continuous need for upgraded facilities landed them with numerous financial problems and they continue to ply their trade in the Combined Counties League Premier Division.

The chairman of Farnham Town is Ray Bridger, who succeeded Geoff Chapple as he stood down in May 2011.

Paul Tanner took the reigns at Farnham Town in May 2010 and led the club to promotion in his first season at the club - finishing second behind Worcester Park who could not be promoted due to failing a ground grading.

After promotion to the Premier Division, Tanner secured a 12th place finish in his second season. In the 2012-13 season, under Tanner, the club finished 8th - which is their highest finish and points total since returning to the Premier Division. In 2013-14, Farnham finished in 13th place and were comfortably mid-table. In the 2014-15 season, Farnham finished 10th on 52 points. Farnham Town finished 10th in the 2015-16 season and reached two cup finals. They beat Camberley Town 3-1 in the Cherry Red Records Premier Challenge Cup Final, which was held At Windsor FC. Two first half goals from Matt Glass and a single goal from Mark Corbett secured Farnham's first cup win for a number of years. Four days later then lost 2-1 - again against Camberley - in the Aldershot Senior Cup Final, which was held at Aldershot Town FC's EBB Stadium.

The current first team manager at the club is Paul Tanner (who has had 6 seasons at the club), alongside head coach Sean Birchall and coaches Alan Reid and Andy Sharratt. Darren Wilson is the current first team captain with Lee Marker as vice captain. Paul Bonner is running the reserve team in the Suburban League South Division
