Evan Marshall (agent)

Evan Stuart Marshall (born June 5, 1956 in Boston, Massachusetts) is a literary agent and an author of nonfiction books and murder mysteries.[1]

He is noteworthy for writing the book The Marshall Plan for Novel Writing (playing off of the name of the Marshall Plan), a formatted novel-writing system, the first of its kind. Software (created by Evan Marshall and Martha Jewett) that assists in the process of writing fiction has been developed around his plan. Some writers praise the system described in the book and in the software as helping to create well structured novels; others deprecate the system as resulting in "canned" or "formulaic" books.

Personal life

Marshall was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and raised in Sharon, Massachusetts. He is married to Martha Jewett and they have two sons, Justin Jewett Marshall (born in 1985) and Warren Jewett Marshall (born in 1988).
