European Pétanque Championships

European Pétanque Championships are organised by the C.E.P. - "Confédération Européenne de Pétanque" - (European Pétanque Confederation) in collaboration with Europeans Member Countries Federations.

Nowadays categories for Euroropean Pétanque Championships are, in order of creation:

  1. Youth (under 18 years old) :
    • Open Triple Game Championships, teams of 4 players.
    • Precision Shooting Championships, one player.
    • Held in even numbered years
    • Accounted for Selection to World Championships
  2. Women (Senior) :
    • Triple Game Championships, teams of 4 players.
    • Precision Shooting Championships, one player.
    • Held in even numbered years (same time as Youth Championships)
    • Accounted for Selection to World Championships
  3. Espoirs U23 (under 23 years old) :
    • Young Women Team Championships / Games combination by encounter: 1x Triple game + (1 Double game and 1 Single game played simultaneously ) - teams of 4 players.
    • Young Men Team Championships / Games combination by encounter: 1x Triple game + (1 Double game and 1 Single game played simultaneously ) - teams of 4 players.
    • Held in odd numbered years (same time as Youth Championships)
  4. Men (Senior) :
    • Triple Game Championships, teams of 4 players.
