Euronews SA

SOCEMIE (Societé Opératrice de la Chaîne Européenne Multilingue d’Information Euronews) was the operating arm of the company behind the Pan-European news channel Euronews, with its headquarters in Lyon-Écully, France. In 2008 it merged with its publishing equivalent, the SECEMIE (Société éditrice de la chaîne multilingue d’information Euronews), to create Euronews SA.[1] After having worked with the company since 1998,[2] Michael Peters was appointed the CEO in 2011, replacing Philippe Cayla.[3] It is owned by 21 public broadcasters from across Europe and the Mediterranean region:[4]
