Edward P. "Ed" Ra (born November 4, 1981)[1] is an American politician who is a member of the New York State Assembly. A Long Island native, Ra was elected to represent the people of the 21st District in the New York State Assembly on November 2, 2010. He is a Republican whose district includes part of Nassau County, New York.[3]

Ra earned a B.A. in computer science from Loyola College in 2004. He received his Juris Doctorate from St. John's University School of Law in 2007 and LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2008.[2][4]

Edward Ra served as the Deputy Town Attorney for the Town of Hempstead, where the Town Attorney is his father, Joseph Ra. He was also a legal aide in the Office of the New York State Attorney General.[2][4]

Ra is a lifetime resident of Franklin Square, New York, where he resides with his wife Laura.[2]
