Dorud (Persian: دورود, also Romanized as Dorūd, Dūrūd, and Dow Rūd; also known as Bahrain and Dorood Garan)[1] is a city in and capital of Dorud County, Lorestan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 159,026 in 23,596 families.[2] The name Dorud means "where two rivers meet", where "Do" means two, and "rud" means river. Sports

Doroud has one main football team, Gahar Zagros who plays in the Iranian Azadegan League (2nd Division), Gahar was the first team from the Province of Lorestan to make it to the Iran Pro League.
