Divisions

CampDoc.com

Michael Ambrose began developing the concept for DocNetwork in 2002, while working as a medical clinic assistant at Tamarack Camps in Ortonville, Michigan.[1] In 2009, while attending the University of Michigan Medical School, Michael launched CampDoc.com, used by over 750 summer camps throughout the United States and Canada in 2015. CampDoc.com is used by special needs and medical camps, adventure, tripping and sports camps.[2]

ChildCareDoc.com and SchoolDoc.com

DocNetwork launched ChildCareDoc.com in the summer of 2013, and is currently piloting this system with child care centers and preschools nationally. Alongside the launch of ChildCareDoc.com, DocNetwork also launched SchoolDoc.com, and works with many public schools, private schools and boarding schools.

Features

Pre-Packaged Medications

In June 2013, DocNetwork aligned with Pharmacy Plus Network, a provider of pharmacy and medication services to offer pre-packaged medications to summer camps.[3] With more than 1 in 4 children and adolescents in the U.S. taking prescription medications on a regular basis, summer camps devote much time organizing, preparing and distributing medications. Through their partnership with Pharmacy Plus Network, DocNetwork offers blister pack and unit dose pack medications for camps.

Online Registration

In November 2013, DocNetwork launched a free online registration system for summer camps. This will allow families to register their campers and pay camp deposits and tuition by credit card or electronic check online. While many camp registration software providers exist, all our paid products. This service will be released for users of the CampDoc.com division first, with the other divisions of DocNetwork to follow.[4] [5]

Travel & Emergency Medical Protection

CampDoc.com partnered with CampAssure in August 2015, to help provide travel and emergency medical protection for children attending summer camps. Coverage is offered for campers in case of cancellation or interruption, parent employment termination, delayed flights, and baggage loss or damage. Campers will also be eligible for coverage for emergency medical expenses during international and domestic trips, in case of sickness, accidents, evacuation, and transportation home.[6]

Partnerships

Markel Insurance

CampDoc.com partnered with Markel Corporation, a leading insurer of summer camps, non-profit social service agencies, child care centers, youth recreation centers and private schools in February 2012.[7] Markel Insurance played an active role in the American Camp Association Healthy Camp Study, a five-year surveillance project to benchmark camp-related injury and illness in U.S. camps. CampDoc.com continues to work with Markel and the American Camp Association to explore the intersections of technology, camp health care, and professional development. In September 2013, CampDoc.com announced that they will continue working together to help camps reduce risk and improve safety through the pre-packaged medication service now being offered to summer camps.[8]

YMCA

In September 2014, CampDoc.com was selected by the YMCA as a preferred vendor for YMCA summer camps. As part of their commitment to youth development, YMCA offers a diverse group of overnight, day and specialty camps throughout the country. This partnership was designed to help Y camps transform the delivery of healthcare at camp, and improve the health and safety at YMCA summer camps.[9]
