Defiler was an American metalcore band from Castro Valley, California.

History

The band was formed in January 2010, by vocalist Jake Pelzl and guitarist Nathan Miller. Currently Defiler has released two albums: Pangaea (2010) and Nematocera (2012), and now is recording the new one.

Pangaea and mini-album Plasmodium (2010—2011)

The debut album of the band - Pangaea - was published in 2010. The album was reissued in 2011 with a new cover and the bonus track "Wild Wasteland". Later that year, the mini-album Plasmodium was issued.

Nematocera and the announcement of a new album (2012—2013)

In 2012, the band released a new album — Nematocera — and started preparing to record a new disc. The band has uploaded a demo clip on its official YouTube channel on YouTube that includes fragments of three new songs. The new album is scheduled for a 2014 release. The names of the songs are not published. A little later Defiler has uploaded a demo clip featuring a fragment of the song Psalm of the Raven, which will be included to the new album. On October 20, 2015, Jake announced that Defiler disbanded so that he could pursue his musical project Devanation.[1]
