David Byrne (playwright)

David Byrne is a British playwright and artistic director of the New Diorama Theatre in London.[1]

David has written for radio, television[2] and has won several major awards for his writing and directing for theatre, including the Writers' Guild and List Magazine Awards for Drama,[3] Les Enfants Terribles Prize and the London OffWestEnd award for Best Artistic Director.[4]

His latest production, the first adaptation of Down & Out in Paris and London, sold out at the Edinburgh Festival in 2015 and received multiple four and five star reviews[5] before transferring to London.[6]

New Diorama Theatre, under his artistic directorship, has won two Peter Brook Awards.[7]
