Cutfather (born Mich Hedin Hansen; 9 April 1968) is a Danish music producer, songwriter, remixer and DJ.

Career

Hansen is perhaps best known for his remix of "Return of the Mack" by Mark Morrison (1996), and the song "Superstar" released internationally by Jamelia in 2003. In 2015 "Up" by Olly Murs feat. Demi Lovato became an international hit.

He has worked with Danish producer Jonas Jeberg. They have written and produced for Pussycat Dolls, Kylie Minogue and Jordin Sparks. He has previously worked with Joe Belmaati in the songwriting and production team Cutfather & Joe. As part of the latter partnership he produced for Peter Andre, Ace of Base and Kylie Minogue. In 2003 he received the prestigious Ivor Novello award for Best Performing song for "Superstar" by Jamelia, which was the most played song in the United Kingdom that year.

Other artists Cutfather has produced or remixed music for include The Corrs, Brandy, Santana, Shayne Ward, Blue, Christina Aguilera, Angie Stone and most recent Pixie Lott.

He owns a studio in Njalsgadepakhusene at Islands Brygge in Copenhagen, Denmark.

X Factor in Denmark

On 24 September 2010 it was announced that Cutfather would replace Soulshock in season four of X Factor in Denmark. He joined returning judge Pernille Rosendahl and former judge Thomas Blachman. He won in his first season with Sarah Skaalum Jørgensen. After completing the fifth season and his second season, Cutfather left X Factor and was replaced by Anne Linnet.
