Claus von Wagner (born Munich 28 November 1977) is a German Kabarett artist or, in terms of Anglo-American classifications, a stand-up performer combining sharply observed comedy and political satire.

Life

Claus von Wagner grew up in Miesbach, some 45 km (30 miles) to the south-east of Munich. His father, originally from Prussia in the north of Germany,[1] was a lawyer. On successful completion of his final school exams he moved on to study Communications Sciences, Modern History and Media Law at Munich. Before and during his university-level studies he set up his first "Kabaret" show, "Warten auf Majola", which had its premier in 1998.[2]

Since 2014 he has co-hosted with Max Uthoff the politically satirical Kabarett programme, Die Anstalt,[3] a popular television show nationally.[4]
