Harmon was born and raised in East St. Louis, Illinois. His religious upbringing by parents that would only allow gospel music into the home saw Harmon establish his musical roots under the influence of leading local church artists. At age 4, he learned to play the drums, which served as the gateway instrument, leading to his growing infatuation with rhythm. A knack for being able to pick up new instruments quickly led to Harmon playing the trombone, tuba, piano, in addition to singing in the choir.
Harmon has production, composition, songwriting and instrumentation credits on many high charting albums including Mary J. Blige's Grammy winning Growing Pains, Ne-Yo's Grammy nominated Year of the Gentleman, Chrisette Michelle's Epiphany, Rihanna's "Russian Roulette", the first single of her album, Rated R. Harmony produced Fantasia's singles "Bittersweet" and "I'm Doin' Me" from her album "Back To Me". He produced Keri Hilson's track Pretty Girl Rock. He also produced or wrote most tracks on K'naan's album Country, God or the Girl, released in 2012.
