The Brighton Football Club, nicknamed the Robins, is an Australian rules football club currently playing in the Southern Football League in Tasmania, Australia.

Origins

Brighton began as Mangalore in 1885, In 1953, 54 and 55 Brighton fielded a team in the Southern Districts Football Association while Mangalore won the South-Eastern Districts premierships in 1954 and 1955,(trove 1954 etc.). Mangalore changed its name to Brighton Robins in 1995 before joining the SFL in 1996. In 1996, Brighton was one of eight founder members of Tasmania's Southern Football League, and were losing semi-finalists in 1996, and 1997, before winning their first and so far only title in 1998.
