Bolton is a village and civil parish in the Eden District of Cumbria, England, about 4 miles (6.4 km) north west of Appleby-in-Westmorland, and on the River Eden. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 416, increasing to 435 at the 2011 Census.[1] Anthony Salvin designed Crossrigg Hall.[2]

Bolton has a pub called the Eden Vale Inn, 2 schools, a primary school called Bolton Primary School, a church called All Saints Church,[3] and a Priory school called Eden Grove School.
