Robert Benjamin Thorpe (November 19, 1926 – October 30, 1996)[1] was a Major League Baseball right fielder. Thorpe played at the Major League level with the Boston Braves in 1951 and 1952. He remained with the team through its move to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to become the Milwaukee Braves. Later in his career he played in the Detroit Tigers organization and would be traded to the St. Louis Cardinals for Herb Moford.[2]
