Bharat Patel (businessman)

Bharat Patel (born 1966) is a successful Gujrati businessman, politician, film producer and distributor. He is the creative mind behind movie production house, Bholenath Movies. Formed in 2008, it has slowly and steadily risen in the movie production and distribution business.

Producer

In initial stage, Bharat Patel made his debut as a producer when he set up his own banner, Bholenath Movies. He produced the Gujarati movie Lekh Vidina Koi Na Jane in 2008 which turned out to be super hit, after which he went on to produce another Gujarati movie Bhad No Dikro in 2009.^[1]

Distributor

In 2010, Bholenath Movies under the leadership of Bharat Patel ventures into distribution with Akshay Kumar, star of Khatta Meetha. This film was distributed in Mumbai circle which includes Maharashtra, Gujrat, Karnataka and Goa. Bholenath Movies also distributed Salman Khan's blockbuster Dabangg in Gujarat territory, again 2010. In the past, Bharat Patel distributed the Rishi Kapoor and Jaya Prada vehicle Sargam in the Gujarat territory.

Producer

Currently Bharat Patel under the banner of Bholenath Movies is producing their first Bollywood movie tentatively titled Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi directed by Sanjay Chhel starring veterans like Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal.^[2] Both the actors came together after 20 years, last they were seen in Rajkumar Santoshi's Damini.^[3] The movie also stars emerging actors like Vir Das and the south siren Payal Ghosh who will make her Hindi movie debut with this film.^[4] The production company has concrete plans of producing movie on regular basis and aspires to become one of the leading production house in Bollywood.
