Beso Turazashvili

Beso Turazashvili (ge:ბესო თურაზაშვილი, ru: Бесо Туразашвили) is a Russian fashion designer and director with Georgian origins based in Moscow, Russia.

Early life

Beso was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. He is the son of Roin Turazashvili, a Georgian businessman and Eteri Dvalishvili, a Georgian chef. Their family moved to Russia when Beso was 2 years old. Turazashvili was a child journalist at a national TV show called "Muravejnik" since he was 10 and probably that's where his passion for film came from. Beso went to study at Liceo in Bergamo, Italy and right after that got into New York University where he graduated with Bachelor's degree and got double major in Film & New Media and Economics. He had a chance to study in New York City, Abu Dhabi, Buenos Aires and Sydney.

Film director career

Born in USSR, raised in Russia and Italy, educated in the US, Beso decided to continue his filmmaking career in the United Arab Emirates from 2010 until moving to Moscow in June 2015. He is known for directing "Lost in Escapade", a psychological drama with elements of magical realism about a Georgian couple, Sandro and Tina, who get lost in the desert of the Emirates and discover changes happening in their relationship.^[1] "Lost in Escapade" will have its premier at the Cannes Film Festival in May, 2015. Beso has also worked as a production designer, costume designer and producer on several US based films. Right now he is in the preproduction of his first feature film to be shot in Georgia and Romania in 2016.

Fashion designer career

Beso founded Portnoy Beso Moscow, a Russian couture brand, right after moving to Moscow fro Dubai. His noble background comes from Georgia where he saw the fine shapes of evening dresses of his mom and other women from a big family. His taste mixes the finest Russian and Georgian motives with Middle Eastern mysterious and charming designs.

Portnoy Beso creates its luxury evening gowns for a self-confident and modern lady. She has achieved a lot but is never stopping. She combines the gentle femininity with powerful presence. The brand is aiming to become a destination for the world’s most discerning men and women, representing contemporary glamour and establishing Made in Russia craftsmanship as a global couture benchmark.

Brand strategist career

Beso joined a British branding agency Wolff Olins as a Strategist right after graduation. StartJG was his next company where he spent a year of his life before moving to Moscow to take a position of a Strategy Principle at Russia's biggest branding and communications agency Apostol headed by Tinatin Kandelaki.
