Benis (Persian: بنیس, also romanized as Benīs; also known as Benīz and Biniz)[1] is a village in Guney-ye Sharqi Rural District, in the Central District of Shabestar County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2011 census, its population was 1,008, in 331 families.[2] Most Benisi residents work in Tehran. The main gathering place of Benisi people in Tehran is the Benis Charity Organization.[3][4]
