Bratislav "Bata" Đorđević (Serbian Cyrillic: Братислав Ђорђевић; born October 23, 1938) is Serbian former professional basketball coach and player. He was a head coach of Crvena zvezda during 1970s. He is a father of Aleksandar Đorđević, Serbian professional basketball coach and former player.^[1]

Basketball career

Đorđević spent the entire playing career in Radnički from Belgrade which played in Yugoslav First Basketball League.

Coaching career

Đorđević began his coaching career in Radnički. But the most important success he has achieved with the Crvena zvezda. He was coach during the winning Yugoslav League title in 1971–72 season. During that season, the leaders were: Zoran Slavnić, Dragan Kapičić, Vladimir Cvetković and Ljubodrag Simonović.

During his work at the Crvena zvezda, his son Aleksandar started to play basketball. Aleksandar did not get a real chance in Crvena zvezda and his career continued to rival Partizan and later become one of the best Yugoslav and Serbian basketball players.

Besides the Crvena zvezda, Đorđević trained a large number of clubs and two national tems. The most important clubs that he trained are: Radnički, Branik Maribor, IMT Belgrade, Limoges CSP. He also coached the national teams of Iran and United Arab Emirates.

Đorđević founded the first basketball camps in Yugoslavia, in Zlatibor (1975) and Bor (1976).

Personal life

Đorđević, and his wife Milijana, have two sons: Aleksandar "Saša" (b. 1967) and Miloš.^[2]

In addition to his coaching career Đorđević was a professor of physical education in elementary school "Marko Orešković" in New Belgrade from 1966–1971.^[3]
