Andrei Finonchenko (Russian: Андрей Финонченко; born 21 June 1982) is a Kazakh football striker. He currently plays for the club FC Shakhter Karagandy with whom he served as a ball boy, as well as the Kazakhstan national football team.

Career

Born in Karagandy, Finonchenko has spent his whole career at his hometown club Shakhter after joining in 2001.

Finonchenko and Andrey Arshavin were once both considered to be the two most promising forwards to have come out of the Soviet Union.

Finonchenko made 11 appearances and scored two goals for the Kazakhstan national football team.[1]

On 20 August 2013, he scored the opening goal in the first leg of Shakhter's Champions League Qualifier against Celtic.
