Altavas, officially the Municipality of Altavas (Aklanon: Banwa it Altavas; Hiligaynon: Banwa sang Altavas; Filipino: Bayan ng Altavas), is a municipality in the province of Aklan in the Western Visayas (Region VI) of the Philippines. The population was 24,619 at the 2015 census.[3] In the 2016 election, it had 15,750 registered voters.[4]

Altavas is 41 kilometres (25 mi) from the provincial capital of Kalibo and 45 kilometres (28 mi) from Roxas City.

Altavas is located at 11°32′N 122°29′E / 11.53°N 122.48°E / 11.53; 122.48.

According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the municipality has a land area of 109.05 square kilometres (42.10 sq mi)[2] constituting 5.99% of the 1,821.42-square-kilometre- (703.25 sq mi) total area of Aklan.
