Alan C. Newell

Not to be confused with Allen Newell.

Alan C. Newell (born 5 November 1941 in Dublin[1]) is an Irish/American mathematician. He was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1976[2] and in 2004 the John von Neumann Lecture for the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.[3] He teaches at the University of Arizona.
