Alan Aldous

Alan (Harold) Aldous (14 November 1923 – 24 February 1992) was a teacher who was headmaster of two schools, in Pontefract and Leeds.

He was educated at Ilford County High School (where he was a prefect) and Jesus College, Oxford.[1]

Career

Mr Aldous was Assistant Master at St. Dunstan's College, Catford, 1949–54 and at Merchant Taylors' School, Crosby, 1954–59. He was Headmaster of King's School, Pontefract, 1959–70 and of Leeds Grammar School, 1970–75.[2] He subsequently became Director of Sixth Form Studies at Longsands School, later Longsands Community College, St. Neots, 1976–88.
