Alaemon is a genus of birds in the Alaudidae family.

Taxonomy and systematics

The name Alaemon comes from the Greek alēmōn, meaning "wanderer" (from alaomai, meaning "to wander").[1] Established by Alexander Keyserling and Johann Heinrich Blasius in 1840, it contains two species:[2]

At the time of its original description, the Benguela long-billed lark was also placed in this genus.
