Ahmed El Merghany (born 24 May 1988)[1] (Arabic: أحمد المرغني) is a Sudanese-born Egyptian footballer. He currently plays as a defensive midfielder for the Egyptian Premier League side El Zamalek, having graduated from the club's youth academy.

In 2016, Merghany was suspended after describing the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, as a “failure” on Facebook.[2]
