Playing career

Geric first played for the Saanich Braves in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League which led to him being named as an alternate captain for Hockey Canada's Team Pacific after a British Colimbia Top 40 Junior Camp.[1] In 2004 Geric joined the Nanaimo Clippers of the British Columbia Hockey League for the 2004-05 season where he played only five games for the team.[2] The following season Geric signed with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League.[2] He remained with the Blades for two seasons playing in a total of 78 games however managed to score only three points during his time with the team.[2] Geric left the team after the end of the 2006-07 season and didn't return to ice hockey until 2009 where he joined the Icemen Thunderbird in the University of British Columbia's Adult Hockey League for the 2009-10 season.[1][2] In 2011 Geric moved to Australia where he signed with the Gold Coast Blue Tongues of the Australian Ice Hockey League for the 2011 AIHL season.[1][2] After playing two seasons for the Blue Tongues the team was suspended from the league due to not being able to secure a home venue for 2013.[3] As a result, Geric left the team and signed with the Newcastle North Stars.[2] In his first season with the North Stars Geric had his best season in terms of scoring, recording 23 points in 27 games.[2]

Geric was first selected to represent Australia in 2014 where he joined the Australian national senior team to compete in the 2014 IIHF World Championship Division II Group A tournament being held in Belgrade, Serbia.[4] Australia finished in the tournament in fourth while Geric managed only a single assist in five games and finished with a plus-minus of –2.[5]

Personal life

Geric was born on 21 March 1989 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.[2] He attended the University of British Columbia before transferring to Griffith University in Queensland, Australia in January 2011.[1]
