Adam Avil (born 30 June 1970) is an Indian rock artist and the lead guitarist, founder, songwriter and lead vocalist of the Indian rock band Pralay.[1] The band, formed in the early 1990s was previously called Greek; its members included: Adam's younger brother Eddie Avil, Luke Kenny, Joy Dattagupta, Ulysses Veyra, Brian Soans and Victor D'souza. The band was active for a decade.[2]

They had a short tour in Almaty, Kazakhstan in 1997 and gave a performance on the local channel TAN TV, signed with Sonic Wave, their debut album Urban Reality was shortlisted for the 2003 Grammys in the world music category.

The Anurag Kashyap movie Paanch was loosely based on the chemistry between the band members.[3]

Avil has also composed a theme song for Umang, an annual festival at Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics.[4] Adam Avil is recording the new album (as of October 2013) and planning an international tour with American artists.[5] Adam along with his brother Eddie directed music for a Hindi-language drama thriller Bollywood film Sixteen (2013 film) released on 12 July and Ishq Actually which released on 25 October 2013.[6] Recently he has co-directed the music[7] of Sunshine Music Tours & Travels, released on 2 September 2016[8] with his brother Eddie Avil.
