The 2018 World Women's Volleyball Championship will be the 18th staging of the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The final tournament will be held in Japan from 30 September to 21 October 2018. This will be the fifth time and the third time in twelve years.[1] 24 national teams are expected to compete.

Qualification

The qualification process will determine the 24 teams from 130 registered teams that will compete in the competition. Hosts Japan is granted automatic qualification. The reigning champion is granted another spot. Regional governing bodies were allocated the remaining 22 spots. Africa was granted two, Asia and Oceania - four, North America - six, South America - two, and Europe - eight places.[2]
