The 2009 NAB Cup is the Australian Football League pre-season competition that was played before the Australian Football League's 2009 Premiership season begins. It culminated with the Final on 13 March 2009 played between Geelong and Collingwood and was won by Geelong. The Final was originally scheduled for 14 March 2009 but was moved by the AFL so that the match did not clash with the Sound Relief benefit concert for the Victorian bushfires.[1]

  • The quarter final between Collingwood and Richmond which was originally scheduled for 28 February, was moved due to a ground clash with A-League Grand Final.
  • On 1 March 2009, Telstra Dome changed its name to Etihad Stadium. The venue will be listed here under its official name on the date of each match. Note that due to sponsorship conflicts, as the AFL recognizes Qantas as its official airline, the league is refusing to refer to the arena as Etihad Stadium, instead calling it Docklands Stadium on its official website.
