The first-ever International Indian Film Academy Awards is officially known as 1st IIFA Awards. The award ceremony was held in 2000 at the Millennium Dome in London. It took place on June 22, 2000. During the ceremony, IIFA Awards were awarded in 26 competitive categories.

The ceremony was co-hosted by Yukta Mookhey and Anupam Kher. A lot of world artists dazzled the Millenium Dome with their presence and performances. Jackie Chan, Angelina Jolie, Thora Birch, Kylie Minogue, Finley Quaye, Miranda Richardson, Sussanah York, Talvin Singh, Ashok Amritraj amongst many other. Millions across the world watched the IIFA Awards 2000 LIVE telecast.[1]
