Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver were the defending champions and successfully defended their title, by defeating Jo Durie and Ann Kiyomura 6–3, 6–1 in the final.
It was the 5th Tour Championships title and 95th overall title for Navratilova, and the 4th Tour Championships title and 47th overall title for Shriver, in their respective doubles careers. It was also the 14th title for the pair during the 1983 season.
