Summary

The Great Taste Coffee Makers won only two of their 18 games in the elimination phase of the Reinforced Filipino Conference, both in the first round against Mariwasa-Honda, 121-111 on March 23, and Toyota, 111-99 on March 27. [1] After back-to-back victories, the Coffee Makers lost all of their final 13 matches with import Perry Davis sitting out in their last five games because of an injury, for a lowly 2-16 won-loss record.

Change its team name to N-Rich, a brand the CFC ballclub used back in 1976, for the Open Conference. The Coffee Creamers had Danny Salisbury and Rich Adams as their imports. [2] N-Rich were unbeaten in their first six outings and finish with the league-best 13-5 won-loss slate, tied with Gilbey's Gin for an outright semifinals berth. The Coffee Creamers were force into a playoff for a finals berth by Toyota Super Corollas on the last playing date of the semifinal round. N-Rich lost to Toyota, 97-114, in the knockout game on December 9, placed fourth in the season-ending conference.
