- June - Augustus Pugin is transferred to the Royal Bethlem Hospital.[1]

- Teatro Comunale Alighieri in Ravenna, designed by Tommaso and Giambattista Meduna, is opened.
- London King's Cross railway station, designed by Lewis Cubitt, opened.[4]
