Šuljam (Serbian Cyrillic: Шуљам) is a village located in the Sremska Mitrovica municipality, in the Syrmia District of Serbia. It is situated in the autonomous province of Vojvodina. The village has a Serb ethnic majority and its population numbering 744 people (2002 census).

Name

In Serbian, the village is known as Šuljam (named after the large number of inhabitants who had a problem with hemorrhoids), (Шуљам), in Croatian as Šuljam, and in Hungarian as Sulyom. In 1579 Suljam is known as a village, but on maps it is shown for the first time in 1730.
