Formacja Paprika Korps to według redakcji naszego magazynu jedna z ciekawszych "młodych" kapel w Polsce, a już zdecydowanie najbardziej intrygujący przedstawiciel sceny reggae. Na tak pochlebną opinię składa się przede wszystkim fakt, iż zespół wychodząc od jamajskich brzmień potrafi odnaleźć w tej muzyce swoje własne "ja" i przefiltrować ją przez osobiste doświadczenia i inspiracje. Za co należy im się szacunek, ponieważ nie jest chyba powodem do dumy udawanie w środku Europy nawiedzonego mistycyzmu rodem z Karaibów, cenniejsze jest poszukiwanie własnych form. Paprikom się ten manewr udaje. [...] Drugą studyjną odsłoną była płyta "Przede wszystkim muzyki" wydana w roku 2001. Nagrana została podobnie jak debiut w Studio Czad w Swarzędzu. Zarejestrowany został wówczas specjalny utwór na żywo z Montego Bay z zapowiedzią sławnego MC Adama Makonnena. Na płycie pojawiły się 4 remiksy autorstwa najciekawszych polskich dub realizatorów (Yama ze Wszystkich Wschodów Słońca, Dziura z Joint Venture Sound System, DJ Adamus z Pozytywki i Dr Emzetka). DESCRIPTION:
The band was established in April 1996. It is the date when Paprika Korps played their first concert in Opole. In June 1997 band decided to record their songs in a studio near Poznan. The time beetwen 1997 and 1999 abounded in many local concerts near Opole. In June 1999, after 3 years of playing, band decided to record their 9 songs in professional studio. The recording was directed by Sławek Mizerkiewicz, the guitarist of a famous polish alternative band Pidżama Porno. [...] The first album "Kolejny Krok"("The next step") gathered many positive reviews and gave an opportunity to play a lot of concerts and to take part in the biggest reggae festivals in Poland as "Africa is hungry" in Torun or "Winter Reggae" in Gliwice and some big concerts in Germany like "Back to the roots festival" in Dresden. [...] The second album of the group, which is called "Przede wszystkim muzyki" was published on 10 August 2001. Eleven new powerful songs were recorded in Studio Czad near Poznan. There is a special bonus on the CD - 4 remixes of Paprika's songs made by most famous polish dub producents. More
