DJ Tiësto, właśc. Tijs Verwest (ur. 17 stycznia 1969 r. w Bredzie), Holender, jeden z najbardziej znanych DJ-ów na świecie. W latach 1985-1993 współpracował z kilkunastoma klubami w Holandii. W połowie lat 90. zaczął komponować utwory trance. W 1997 r. wraz z Arny Binkiem założył Black Hole Recordings. Tworzył wspólnie nagrania z takimi producentami jak Armin van Buuren (w projekcie Alibi) czy Ferry Corsten (Gouryella). W Polsce Tiësto występował wielokrotnie: w 2004 r. roku zagrał w Lesznie, w 2005 i 2007 w Hali Ludowej we Wrocławiu w ramach Tiesto CEE Tour, a pierwszy jego występ w naszym kraju miał miejsce w Warszawie. W 2004 po raz trzeci z rzędu uznany przez DJ Mag za najlepszego DJ-a na świecie. Muzykę Tiesto wykorzystano w 2 filmach: Matrix: Rewolucje oraz Piraci z Karaibów II.Jako jedyny DJ w historii muzyki elektronicznej zagrał na Olimpiadzie w Atenach w 2004 roku. Utwór nazywał się "Parade Of The Athletes". W 2004 roku zagrał także w komedio-dramacie o tytule It's All Gone Pete Tong, opisującym dramat związany z życiem Frankiego Wilde'a i jego walką z utratą słuchu.

Tiësto (born Tijs Verwest on January 31, 1969 in Breda, Netherlands) is one of the world's most famous trance DJ figures in the electronic dance music scene. Although he has used many aliases in the past, he is best known for his work as DJ Tiësto. However, his latest productions have him dropping the "DJ" label and he is now known simply as "Tiësto".

Globally, Tiësto is best known for being the first DJ to play live at the opening ceremony of the in Athens' 2004 Olympic games and voted "best DJ in the World" consecutive 3 times in a row by DJ magazine as well as his seminal production credits. Verwest will be permanently attached to his Tiësto alias, an Italian twist of his childhood nickname, and this acclaimed remix that brought him into the strata of world-renowned DJs. As of May 2006 Tiësto is the official worldwide ambassador for the Dance4Life foundation, fighting the spread of AIDS/HIV, for which he recorded the track dance4life.
