Po ogromnych sukcesach i zdobyciu uznania na całym świecie bębniarze Yamato ponownie odwiedzą nasz kraj. Już w maju na największych scenach polskich miast zaprezentują nowy program – „SHIN-ON – Rytm serca”.

Zespół słynie ze spektakularnych widowisk, na których prezentuje sztukę gry na tradycyjnych bębnach taiko. Występ Yamato – bębniarzy z Japonii to niezwykłe połączenie odgłosów bębnów z dźwiękami tradycyjnych instrumentów strunowych szarpanych (koto, chappa, shino-bue, samisen, kane).

YAMATO wspaniale interpretuje muzyczne tradycje, które od wieków związane są z kulturą i religią Kraju Kwitnącej Wiśni. Idealna synchronizacja nie byłaby możliwa bez setek godzin intensywnych treningów i ekstremalnej koncentracji. Przedstawienie, podczas którego bębniarze posługują się kilkoma tuzinami bębnów, o średnicy sięgającej pięciu metrów i pałeczkami o wadze do 3,5 kilograma, jest niesamowitym przeżyciem. Fantastyczne show jakie prezentują absorbuje taką ilość energii artystów, że potrzebują oni 12 godzin wypoczynku aby zregenerować siły. Unikatowi bębniarze, wśród których zobaczymy również kobiety, od pierwszych uderzeń zachwycają i oczarowują publiczność rytmem, choreografią i dźwiękiem. Dzięki połączeniu instrumentów muzycznych i wyćwiczonej technice gry, występy YAMATO oferują widzom niezwykłą różnorodność. Niesamowita energia, akrobacje i humor grających wraz z kolorowymi, autentycznymi japońskimi strojami uzupełniają to niezwykłe widowisko.

Grupa, od czasu powstania, w roku 1993, występowała na całym świecie dając juz ponad 1.500 występów. W 1998 r. bębniarze z YAMATO wystąpili na prestiżowej imprezie Fringe Festival w Edynburgu. Za swój występ odebrali nagrodę Fringe Award, a magazyn „The Scotsman” pisał o nich, że „w sposób niezwykły łączą energię szalonych rockmanów z duchowością Dalekiego Wschodu”.

Jak sami przyznają, najważniejsze dla nich jest przekazanie publiczności ogromnej energii drzemiącej od wieków w „sercach” tradycyjnych bębnów. Podczas każdego show zespół wyczarowuje brzmienia, od których drżą podłogi, sufity i ściany sal koncertowych. Niesamowity nastrój widowiska stwarza także gra świateł i fenomenalne rozstawienie instrumenów, dzięki czemu publiczność doskonale wie, z którego instrumentu wypływa przewodnie i energetyzujące brzmienie. Ten kilkunastoosobowy organizm gra, krzyczy i tańczy pozostawiając niezapomniane wrażenie na zachwyconej publiczności.

Yamato was founded by Masa Ogawa in 1993 in Nara, 'the land of Yamato', which is said to be the birthplace of Japanese culture. Presently based in Asuka Village, Nara Prefecture, we travel all over the world with Japan's traditional Wadaiko drums. We put our very souls into these unusual instruments, whose sound stir the hearts of people everywhere, and our performances are infused with the idea that the drumbeat, like the heartbeat, is the very pulse of life. Since its formation almost 13 years ago, Yamato has played to more than a million people, giving over 1500 performances in about a dozen different countries, and yet our enthusiasm remains undiminished. We continue to travel with several dozen large and small drums (including an odaiko made from a huge tree over 400 years old), displaying the instruments' versatility and instinctive appeal, both in extemporized street performances and in concert halls holding several thousand people. Besides our travels throughout Japan, we have been on numerous overseas tours to China, South Korea, Indonesia and Singapore, as well as to South America and Europe.

Our world travels began in August 1998, when we took part in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It was a huge success, and although the theatre was small, we performed to full houses and won the Spirit of Fringe award. From February to May 1999, we toured five European countries; Great Britain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Austria, giving a total of 70 concerts. In June of that year, we were invited to the Israel Festival, performing five times in Jerusalem and elsewhere. We were invited back to the Netherlands in August, playing at the Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam. We made a third tour, from late August to October, this time to South America. It was an important year for us; traveling long distances and performing for several hundred thousand people. In the year 2000, after performing in Osaka and Tokyo in February, we had an especially challenging tour of Britain, in March, where we played 27 times in the course of the month. The tour was a great success, attracting 30,000 people. Back in Japan, we toured and performed in 60 schools between September and November. The first year of the 21st century, 2001, was a memorable one for Yamato. We went on a world tour, from January to November, comprising 100 concerts in 6 countries in America, which was both the culmination of our pervious activities and a fresh start to our future. Our concert tour of Japan, in December, brought down the curtain on a very successful year. Last year, 2002, we performed in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. This tour was organized in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Japan, and of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Japan, and Sri Lanka and Japan. In July and August 2002, we performed in Germany, Italy and Spain. In 2003, we performed in Europe. We gave 170 shows in Europe in this year. And we went to USA and CANADA, and we had 26 peformance. YAMATO was born, it became the 10th anniversary, and we performed the 10th anniversary in Japan in August. In 2004, we went to 23 countries from January to September, Qatar, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Portugal, Spain, Germany, slovene, Switzerland, Greece, Austria, and Holland.We had just 100 peformance. In Nobember we went to Mexico and we had 11 peformanced. In December we went to HongKong and Macau and we had 5 peformance.

In 2005, we went to 10 countries from February to September and we had 127 peformance. And then we went to USA from October to November and we had 25 performance. In 2006, we wento to Phillipine first time and we had 4 performance. After those performance,we went over Europe. We will 163 performance there from January to Octover. After tour of 2006, we visited turns into 36 countries.
