 Polski opis

Gatunek :: Black Metal
Jakość :: mp3 192k
Rok wydania :: 2005

Surowy, experymentalny black metal z naleciałościami Dodheimsgard. W składzie członkowie Orcturus i Gorgoroth.

 English description

Genre :: Black Metal
Quality :: mp3 192k
Release date :: 2005

It is now 2005 and finally Nidingr's debut album is out. The band started already in the year 1996 and after having released a rehearsal tape in 1996 and a demo in 1999 it became very silent around Nidingr. In the meantime Teloch, bass and guitars, joined Orcustus as a full-time member and also became the live-guitarist for the infamous Gorgoroth.

But as said, finally the debut album "Sorrow infinite and darkness" is out for sale and to be honest I've been looking forward to this album for a long time. My expectations therefore were very high. Immediately after the first listen I was hooked. Musically Nidingr combines cold Norwegian underground black metal with fast death metal. Bands which come up to my mind when listening Nidingr are for example new Satyricon, Dødheimsgard, some new Gehenna, some Blood Red Throne but especially newer Behemoth. Just like Behemoth also Nidingr knows how to combine good, fast and technical death metal without losing the very important black touch. Another important part in Nidingr's music is that it sounds really catchy without being cheesy. After having heard the album only once you'll be hooked and you'll crave for hearing the album over and over again. The sound on "Sorrow infinite and darkness" is also really good which makes it even more enjoyable. My personal favourite is "The watch-towers of the universe" which sounds cold and experimental and it gives me goosebumps all over. Especially this one sounds like newer Satyricon with an experimental, industrial-alike touch. Great!

Though to be honest there are really no weaker parts to be found on "Sorrow infinite and darkness" and anyone who isn't frightened by a little bit of experimental black metal will definately enjoy Nidingr. They dared to take experimental black metal up to a new level and did it with great success!
