Duet z angielskiego hrabstwa Somerset jest jednym z ważniejszych przedstawicieli "neohippisowskiej"
kultury trance'owo-rave'owej. Od l993 r. współpracuje z wytwórnią Planet Dog i stanowi właściwie
"oddział" grupy Ozric Tentacles: w skład Eat Static wchodzą dwaj członkowie tego zespołu - Merv Pepler
i Joie Hinton. Zadebiutowali serią EP-ek tzw white labels (Monkey Man, Inana i Almost Human i oraz
kasetą dla własnej wytwórni Alien. Sporą część muzyki duetu stanowi odzwierciedlenie obsesji na
punkcie UFO, jakiej ulegli Pepler i Hinton.

Eat Static is J Hinton, M Pepler and S Everitt. A splinter group from Ozric Tentacles (consisting
essentially of the rhythm section), Eat Static specialises in an up-tempo, spacey trance-techno,
with some Eastern elements. Two early '90's albums were released on the Planet Dog record label,
'Abduction' and 'Implant', along with the excellent 'Lost In Time' EP. They gained a huge following
thanks to the MegaDog circuit, where they have played numerous live gigs. Further single releases
included the Bony Incus EP and Epsylon EP, which saw Eat Static explore the realms of harder trance
and drum and bass. Eat Static then moved to Mammoth Records and released their 'Science of the Gods'
album in 1997, followed by a live album, 'B-World', which featured live and exclusive tracks. 2001
saw the release of the album 'Crash and Burn'.
