Niemiecki duet Moonbootica tworzą Oliver Kowalski (koweSix) i Tobias Schmidt (Tobitob, występował również kiedyś w rapowej grupie Fünf Sterne Deluxe). Ja pierwszy raz zetknąłem się z nimi w 2005 roku, kiedy wydali singiel June. Znalazły się na nim 2 utwory, tytułowy June z miejsca stał się jednym z moich ulubionych kawałków. Do drugiego nieco słabszego Mustang 86, ale napewno lepszego niż ich kolejne produkcje, czasem zdarza mi się wrócić.

"Jump Around" znalazło się na wydanym w październiku drugim albumie "Moonlight Welfare". Teraz doczekało się remixów przygotowanych przez Da Fresh i Eyerer & Chopstick. Ja od pierwszego przesłuchania uwielbiam Radio Mix i Moonbootica LP mix. Zdaję sobie sprawę z tego, że łatwiej robi się hit z innego hitu. Przecież od 1992, kiedy nagrali go House of Pain, ten kawałek istnieje w świadomości każdego kto chociaż w niewielkim stopniu interesuje się muzyką i jest akceptowany przez fanów róznych gatunków. Tymczasem pochodzący z Hamburga panowie wyszli trochę dalej poza przyspieszenie bitu, dodanie kilku charakterystycznych dla elektro motywów, ale jak niesie wieść gminna od podstaw nagrali wokale. Dla mnie bomba!

Since the pair of them, lying on a distant beach, made a pact at the end of the last century to make music together their motto has been "As we like it " – what counts is the music, nothing more, nothing less. Sounds simple enough, but behind the slogan lies a highly complex process of selection   which comes down to one basic principle: personal taste and personal satisfaction rule, the style police are powerless. No holds barred.  Wildstyle and Moonbootica go together like New School and Old School when New School was Old School and Old School was new. And their dexterity takes care of the rest.

Basic principles these may be, but the DJ experience could not be more different to the Moonbootica album sound. On the decks, opposites gel as the music flows. On the albums, opposites polarise. Breaks are maximized to full effect as energy levels rise. Moonbootica unify elements which are seldom found together. Beautiful music, intelligent, playful, brutal,  seductive.
